Very Special thanks to all of you buying my Discus Books for Tropical Fish Keeping World-Wide it is very humbling and appreciated.
I know many book sellers Internationally are now stocking my books to sell through stores and online so a big thank you, for it means a great deal to me that folk in communities can acquire these books to help the beginner and advance the pastime of tropical fish keeping.

The first Book published was "The Discus Book" in 1989 a time I describe as a purple period for the hobbyist for around that period a number of us published our works on the subject of keeping Discus Cichlids were released including friends books by Eberhard Schulze, Dr. Eduard Schmidt-Focke, Heiko Bleher, Jack Wattley and Bernd Degen.
Even after 25 years many folk appreciate my first edition for recording and publising my findings on keeping and successfully breeding these majestic species in captivity.

One of the most popular and biggest selling Discus Book is "The Discus Book 2nd Edition" where the book has been further updated with additional valauble points of refrence for today's aquarist. however I always try to remind everyone, discus keeping has no silver bullet and only from love, care and dedication will you be rewarded.
I know in today's frenzied society we are attracted to many commercial solutions but in truth as the book says on the title of the second edition "Some of the old ways are still always the best" and by applying some grounded proven simple methods you will gain results and thriving discus species.

Upon looking and knowing of other books, I think based on the content it is very comprehensive and will help the beginner or contribute towards the annuals of the ardent aquarists knowledge base. Had I of laid out the book similar to other authors and noteable breeders it would of amounted to several hundreds of pages.

Thanks for taking the time to read my latest post and I know in every book you will find something of significant relevance and will enjoy the books as they serve as a time capsule into the past and epecially some of the old 35mm black and white pictures.
Thank you again to all of you buying my books and further good news is I plan to write a real big edition covering specie behaviour and natural selection of breeding in addition to the history and evoluton of the hobby. For I am now becoming slightly concerned that we are loosing some of the original species in their full colourful glory and being replaced by an array of colour variants that devalue in some respects dignity of the original grand species of Axelrodi, Heckel, Haraldi and the Tefe Green.
If you would like to participate and be a contributor to the new book and be acknowledged I am seeking more photographs of Discus Species of all varieties and environments. Such contributions are especially of benefit to retailers and breeders promoting their enterprises where readers can becoe aware.

Dear Google Tropical Fish Hobbyist Readers and Fans,
Very humbled to see today "The Discus Book" in the United States of America at No 12 today (24th July, 2014) on Amazon USA Best Sellers for Fish Care and Aquariums.
Since being first published in 1989 from my experiences and findings as a breeder of the Discus (symphysodon) and as an author where I recorded events for every aquarist continues to demonstrate the worth and value inside the book as a frank and honest informative guide based on experience first hand.
When I was breeding these amazing species the success derived from a number of factors coming together and all I revealed in the book for I did experience a reluctance from some to share ideas and knowledge sadly due to commercial interests.
Even though written 25 years ago the book is just perfect for every aquarist including beginners as we need more in the hobby of tropical fishkeeping and by applying some simple golden rules found in the book I know will be a great benchmark even today and perhaps we all need to sometimes pause and ask if some of the technologies today only benefit the vendor selling such items.
For I reflected last night and recall my breeding pairs enjoying life in bare bottom 24L x 21H x 18D aquariums a simple sponge filter only costing me £1.99 ($3.50), an inverted flower pot or oxydator, food I prepared and made myself in bulk with beef heart and a water change each day with natural day light in the day and light at night till about 10.00 pm and they thrived.
So taking a leaf out of the world of engineering, maybe the secret is keeping it simple!

The Discus Book Still A Best Seller After 25 Years!
Dear Google Readers and Fans,
Today I saw that "The Discus Book" was No 30 in the USA Amazon Best Sellers for Fish Care and Aquariums.
This I find to be quiet a great achievement legacy of a book from when such a specialist publication was first written back in 1989 as a hardback.
To me it makes sense for such popularity for if I recall I was one of the few actually taking folk through my personal successes of breeding Discus (symphysodon) in captivity and where I recorded my findings (the trade secrets) for prosperity to share with other Tropical Fish enthusiasts and dedicated Aquarists.
Covering my findings on water, food, disease and more that enabled such achievements of Wild species to be bred in captivity 25 years ago and proud to be one of an elite few world-wide on the subject who have actually bred the species and written on the subject as an accomplished author.
Today, as we move with the times the book is available in both Paperback and on Kindle Digital. Amazon Prime Members can borrow "The Discus Book" and any others Free.
Like I always say in this fast and instant World today of on demand. When it comes to Tropical Fish Keeping there is no silver bullet, only love care and dedication.

Success Online Does Not Always Cost You Money!

This morning I have just written a piece on Google Plus regarding gaining more web users and converting them into more customers.
We have all seen the adverts and offers of 'Gaining More Traffic and Followers' and all too often with a selection of fancy prices and charges.
Most web sites suffer from a lack of volume based on poor standards of web design and technical authoring.
If a web site is set up today properly by applying the fundamental key elements that are the measurment standards of Google Ratings and Browsr Software Rendering Engines these two dynamic forces of artificial intelligence will be the work horses in your online success story!
